I am unsure if this information has been posted on the forum previously
But this year is the 40th anniversary of the Iconic mk2 cortina
The mk1 owners club have arranged a weekend in June were they have planned a weekend at Albury to celebrate all things Mk2 cortina and Cortina's
I understand that this event is noted on our club calandar for June but I thought I might also share the link here as I know there are some great mk2 Cortina's in the SFCC and it would be nice to have as many cars at Albury to Celebrate this great milestone with all other enthusiasts from all around our great national
I also know that there are some members that have registered already and are heading down
But i thought that I would add the link with the itinary and the registration form
One last thing if u have a mk1 cortina or any other cortina or a small ford and if ur interested in having a great a great weekend
I strongly recommend you get on down to the 2nd Cortina Nationals and have a laugh and great weekend
Also if you are planning on heading down in your car our good friend Mr Cortina himself Garry O'Reilly is arranging a convoy of all the travelling cars to cruise down together which in itself will be a site to be seen which I can either past in the details or put u in touch with Gaz himself
All I would like to say if it's anything like the original mk1 Nationals it should be a super weekend
I understand I put a post the other week but there's an update regarding the meeting point for all the people travelling from Sydney I have been informed from the man him self Sir Gary o reily
Our meeting point for the Friday convoy is the Suttons Forest Service Centre and we will be departing at 9am sharp. We will assemble at the rear of the servo where there is a large truck parking area. Please remember to fill the Corti with Shell juice before we leave as our next stop will be Gundagai appx. 235ks away.
Lunch stop is Gundagai and I have allowed one hour for you to fill up the car and get a bite to eat. At the Shell servo there is a Hungry Jacks restaurant and just down the road there is the golden arches. We will be departing at 1pm for the final leg of our convoy.
Hope to see u there if u require any other additional information please pm me
