There was also a bit of drama on track with the falcon running out of brake pads, early in the day.
You can see the sparks coming out the back in this shot from metal on metal
Then there was a small fire after a dipstick came out of the hole & sprayed the hot engine with oil, luckily nothing serious & was quickly extinguished.
This Datsun was also doing a great impression of a 1980's F1 car with all of the sparks coming out the back
