Here are my pics from the "Redundant Raceways" cruise on the weekend.

I went with Garth Davidson & his Family in their Escort Cosworth, & some of the guys & girls from the Mountain Cruisers Club from Lithgow to meet up at Katoomba with Mark Scrivanich & the guys from the RSOC from Sydney.

We started our cruise at Maccas at Lithgow & travelled the back roads including part of the old Hartley Valley motorbike circuit where we stopped & had a look.

Next Stop was the old Hartley Valley motorbike Racing circuit which was used from 1915 until 1938

When we got to Katoomba we met up with the Ford RS Owners Club from Sydney & had a walk around the track with motor racing legend Bob Skelton who shared some stories of what racing was like in the early days, & how when he was racing in Europe he sacked the now boss of F1 Bernie Eccleston from his racing team. Some of you will remember Bob from when he came to the clubs Christmas party a couple of years ago with Leo Geoghegan.

The group at the old Catalina Park Raceway

Michael's Sierra & Garth's Escort

One of our newest member Mark Scrivanich joined us for his first cruise & brought along his immaculate Ford Focus

Some photos of the Track Walk of the old Catalina Park Circuit in Katoomba.

Here is a bit of a then & now photo showing some of the action that used to happen at the track in its heyday

From Katoomba we went to Ellie Cats Café at Dargan (on the Bell Line Rd between Lithgow & the Darling Causeway) for a late lunch. Its a great little café with some fantastic views across the blue mountains

Geez it looks a lot more grown over since we did our visit to Catalina a couple of years ago.

Sure is, the old sign painted on the fence at Craven A corner is now completely overgrown as you can see in that photo.
Someone has also stolen the BP Start finish signs as well.

I think in a couple of years parts of the track will become completely overgrown.
