My Escort passed the test yesterday, so we will be in for Gnoo Blas. Sent off the entry form today, and we are booked in to the Midcity Motor Lodge for Friday & Saturday nights.

At this stage we'll have 25 attending the dinner on Saturday night.
This is to be confirmed.
We look like having 16 cars representing the club at the show on Saturday, so it's shaping up nicely.
Thanks guys, please keep me informed if anything changes.
We may change the departure time leaving MacDonalds Penrith for our cruise to Orange on Friday, I will provide plenty of notice.

I'm a bit late off the blocks, but I'm in for this one!

What time does the show start on the Saturday? I'm not sure I can get a leave pass for the whole 3 days, but I might have to come up the Friday night if the show starts early.

And Sunday I was planning on heading back to Bathurst to watch the 12Hr before heading back home again.

Does anyone know if the road from Goulburn up to Blayney has much dirt on it? Or is it sealed all/most of the way now?

Great News Peter
Neale is the knowledgeable one on local roads
Accommodation in Orange is probably difficult to get now. you might try Bathurst and we can convoy out on Saturday morning as the show gates open about 7.30.
We are staying with Neale in Bathurst but he doesn't have much room.

There is still some dirt; I went camping in December 2013 at Abercrombie Caves and went home that way...
Much better for me to take the Mountains via Bathurst...

Thanks Mark. I was looking at maps today and going via blue mtns looks to be the better option. Less wombats to dodge too, hey Neale

I found a room at the mid city motor Lodge too. Will let you know if I can swing the extra day off and come up early on the Friday. Thanks for the call tonight Geoff.

Coming from Goulburn if you go the Goulburn Rd through Crookwell it was dirt last time I went & still sounds like it is. Heaps of roos that way as well.

There are a couple of other ways.

You can go through Taralga & Oberon which would be the shortest way to Bathurst, but it gets tight through the abercrobie river which is where I lost half of my front bar to a wombat. Still not a bad road though.

If you are going straight to Orange from Goulburn I would personally go through Yass, up the Lachlan Valley Way to Cowra, then through Canowindra to Orange. Its an hour shorter than going through the mountains & the roads are pretty good & all sealed & will take about the same time as going via Oberon.
