At Motorex this year we had our club display linked to the Combined Ford Clubs display. 5 members, Kyle (MK2 Cortina), (Theo MK1 Escort), (John TF Cortina), (Hilton MK1 Cortina) and (Dean MK1 Capri) made up our line also Mark and Micheal with a T/C Escort and Sierra were on loan to the RS Owners Club for their display. I was on board Saturday. I think the number of spectators was down this year and the section for club cars on display was well down in numbers. With more street machines and hot rods moving into this area, I also think trade stands were less in number this year. Motorex is moving more and more into a hot rod and street machine show not a all round car show as it first started. This is a little sad for clubs like ours. But the organisers have to make money for these events to run and have to put a show on that the public are willing to pay and see so you can't blame them. I would like to thank the members that put the time in to bring their cars out to display and especially Theo our CFC delegate who took care of the stand on Sunday and organised the pack up. I'm sure Theo will put a few words togeather about Sunday when he gets a chance. When I spoke to him he said there was a line to get in on Sunday morning. I spoke to a few members that came and had a look on Saturday but at $18 entry fee I couldn't blame too many of you for not having a look. |
