• The Canberra Open Day last weekend was highly successful with 4 of the HARS heavies attending – Connie, Cat, Caribou & C47. As usual there was a huge crowd and not everybody got an opportunity to go through our aircraft and the idea of coming over to our base seems to be working for those who missed out at Canberra.
• Monday morning, weather permitting, between 7 & 9 should see the Macchi being installed on the pole as part of the landscaping in front of HARS. This will be a much anticipated event with media being invited and we are sure that the magnificent work done in preparing this eye catching part of the entrance to HARS will be a significant statement for visitors.
• Anzac Day is fast approaching and HARS will be participating in overflies of Shellharbour Memorial, Albion Park RSL, Dapto school, Wollongong March, Kiama March, Sydney March and Kangaroo Valley Memorial. Well done to all engineering and flight crews in preparing for our privilege to support these memorials.
• Hot on the heels of Anzac Day is of course Wings 16 on 30 April & 1 May which promises to be a huge event for all and the website http://www.wingsoverillawarra.com.au/ is pretty spectacular showing F18, C17, P3, Roulettes and many other participants on the 2 days including the Connie flying with the Roulettes, Cat & Caribou. We need as many HARS members to arrive from early on both days to lend their support as we are having many of our aircraft, including the 747 & Connie, open to the public and we are charging entrance fees to all of those aircraft. This is a great opportunity for HARS and we need everybody who can at least give some time to be involved.
