We have been invited by the RS Owners club to a cruise this weekend.

It is the "Redundant Raceways Run" on Sunday April 26 where we will visit a couple of long closed, but not forgotten (at least by some of the old blokes anyway) motorsport venues - Silverdale Speed Hillclimb at Silverdale, and the Catalina Park Raceway at Katoomba, both of which remain fairly intact and able to be walked around.

We will have a "guide" at Catalina - a former Touring Car and open wheel racer who featured often there, and will no doubt entertain with plenty of stories of races, and racers, of old.

Run will start at the Macca's at Bonnyrigg Heights - Corner of Elizabeth Drive & Smithfield Rd Bonnyrigg - leaving at 8:30am. From there, it's straight to Silverdale, then to Catalina Park (Katoomba) via a scenic route which takes in the infamous Springwood Hillclimb. Following our tour of Catalina, lunch will be at the Mount Victoria Pub, with a run back to Sydney via the Bells Line of Road.

For more info or questions call Mark Hockey on 0419 661 170.

I will be going along to this cruise & I have arranged a meeting point for anyone coming from west of the mountains at Lithgow McDonalds at 10am, & depart at 10:30am.

From McDonalds we will head through town & along Browns Gap Road to Hartley. We will then go up Mount Victoria & follow the Great Western Highway to Catalina Park in Katoomba
