This event is coming up on the first Sunday in May (the week before mothers day). It is a terrific event with plenty to do.
If you want to go to this event you must register online at the address below. Make sure you select the "Small Ford Car Club of NSW" from the drop down list (see below). Your entry ticket will then be sent out to you. (Fill in the Register Your Vehicle section only)
This reminder email was received from the organisers.
Vehicle Owner Registrations
Its just over 3 weeks to go to the 2014 Wings Over Illawarra. Can you please remind your club members that they must register their vehicle to display at the show and receive their complimentary entry ticket.
For anyone who is going to this event and would like to cruise down together I thought that we could meet at the parking bay at the top of Mt Ousley on the left heading south at 8.15 am, departing at 8.30. That would give us ample time to drive to the Albion Park Aerodrome where the show is being held and gates open at 9.00 am. I did notice on the registration forms that there was no particular parking area allocation being given to us, so arriving together may enable us to be together for the day. Please let me know if you would like to be a part of the ''convoy'' so you won't be left behind.
Amended meeting time for our convoy. 7.45 am departing at 8.00 am Same meeting place. Reason: Just discovered that gates open for cars on show at 8.00 am and close at 9.00 am. Cars must be parked before gates open to public at 9.00 am.
Mt Ousley at 8.00 am arriving in Albion Park at around 8.30 am hopefully. If you call me just before that we can meet you and enter together that way we wiki be able to park together.
I got an email from the organisers this evening. The bit in bold looks like we get our own spot. That would mean we could just head in and wait in the right spot wouldn't it? Or would it be easier if we all arrived as one group?
quote:"When you are arriving at Albion Park Rail, whether it be from the North or the South you will need to turn into the Airport Precinct from the Princes Highway via Airport Road at the traffic lights.
The Traffic Management staff will direct you to turn left into Hargraves Avenue. At the end of Hargraves Avenue you will turn right into Boomerang Avenue.
Entry to the Classic Vehicle Display area will be via Gate 9 (East of the HARS Hangar) Turn left. Once you turn into the entrance at Gate 9 the staff will direct you to your designated parking area. All clubs have been allocated spaces with your fellow club members. Due to the limited space all vehicles will need to remain in their allocated spaces."
Thank you to everyone who has responded to the post on this forum regarding the intended meeting place and ''convoy'' to the show, it makes it easier for us to have an idea on numbers and also it's just nice to drive down together.
