This years show at the old Gnoo Blas race circuit was fantastic one again with plenty to see and do.

This year was the 60th Anneversary since the first race was held there back in 1953.

More infor about the track can be found here:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnoo_Blas_circuit

Some of the highlights of the show were

- Special guests, motor racing legends Jim Richards (with some of his race cars) & Colin Bond.

- The release of a re-creation of the Gnoo Blas circuit of the 1950's in racing simulator that you could have a go on to get a feel for what it was like to race around the track back in the day (Luckily it was only a simulation because I became part of the scenery on more than one occasion, definatly a very scary track).

- A broad variety of about 330 cars, bikes & trucks on display from the early 1900's all the way up to cars made this year. Including hot rods, police cars, race cars, street machines, rat rods & vintage cars of all makes & models.

Small Fords were well represented with cars from the Small Ford Car Club, CAP Club & RSOC on display.

Memebers present at the show were
Geoff - Mk1 Lotus Cortina
Neale - Mk2 Cortina 440L
Liam - Mk2 Escort RS2000
Mark - Mk1 Escort Twin Cam

It was sometimes a bit difficult to get a pic of the cars with plenty of people wanting to have a look at them.

At the end of the day was the tropy presentations & Geoff was fortunate enough to be awarded with "Car of the Show".
There was a few cars that were all good enough to be the best car of the show but when it came down to deciding the best, Colin Bond made the final decision & he said that the history beind the car is what tipped it over the edge & made it the standout over the other cars.

After all of the dramas lately getting the car back on the road the award made it all worth while.

Here is a pic of the presentation with the greats Jim Richards & Colin Bond

In saying that I would have to say that this was the most popular car at the show, there was always a crowd gathered around it

Congratulation Geoff. Awesome result, but also well deserved. Your cars history still amazes me, thinking of how it made it out here all those years ago.

Thanks for the pictures Neale, excellent work. Looks like a top show. Will have to try again next year to get up there, things didn't work out this year.

Wow Neale,

You have taken a load incredible photos, you have captured the day.

Good on you Geoff, that's huge with the class of variety around your

car.

I hope there is a lot of room in the glass cabinet in that new

Kitchen to fit that in.

Geoff brought the trophy along to the Harry's meet on Monday night, he recons he doesn't need a cabinet as he sleeps with it and calls it darling!

Cheers guys, It is definatly a great weekend. The Show alone is worth the trek & you want to make a weekend of it there is the dinner on Saturday where the special guests will make an appearance, & the cruise on the Sunday on some of the local roads.

There are a couple more pics from the dinner & cruise.

Was Fletch out there? Did you bribe (sorry, entice) him so to get another appearance on his Show?
