It is an event held by the Bathurst Light Car Club. They hold a couple of hillclimbs on the mountains every year.
This was supposed to be part of the BLCC's Speed Weekend where they have a Hillclimb on one day & a supersprint down Conrod Straight on the other. We couldnt do the supresprint this year because the council has started work on the track to bring it up to current safety standards.
The Esses Hillclimb is on Mount Panorama, Bathurst & starts at the BLCC Club House on Forrest Elbow & finishes under the billboard at Skyline.
Here is a 3D map
There was a load of different cars there from Anglia's to open wheelers as you can see on the link to the other pics.
There was a total of 51 cars, which is a little less than normal due to the cancelled supersprint. The slowest time was a 57.78 recorded by a sick (not well) Aussie Legend race car, & the fastest was a 1987 Lola (open wheeler) 23.65.
Cameron ran in the Type 1 (standard class) 0-1600cc with a best time of 37.63 sec & 44th outright, putting alot of more powerfull cars to shame
I will post a link to the full results of the day when the BLCC posts the results on their website.
I will also post up the dates for next years hillclimbs if anyone is interested.
