As you can see from the pics I didn't end up taking the corty down on the weekend. When I went to start it up on the Saturday morning the ignition barrel fell apart & the spring inside in fired the guts of it through the dash & foot well. After about 30min of buggering around with it I got it back together & hit the road to Canberra. My luck didn't last long when a coupe of blocks from home it did it again. So after another 30 min of trying to get it back together I gave up, went back to get the Focus & then headed off to Canberra.
When I got to the show the focus fitted right in with the Neil's Green RS & Eddies LR. There was also a couple of SFCC cars there parked around the show. The location was a top spot at Acton Park on the banks of Lake Burley Griffin.
Congrats go to Eddie. With some tough competition he got a awarded the 'Best Small Ford' at the show.
That night there was the trivia night at the Rydges Hotel on Capital Hill where most people were staying. It was good for a few laughs but left most of us with a sore head trying to think of the answers.
The next morning everyone met up again at the Rydges for breaky & briefing for the observation run.
At 10am we all then headed off for a cruise around Canberra and suburbs looking for different things on the form that we had to fill out. Some of us saw more sights than others but it was all part of the fun
It all ended up at the historic Bushranger Hotel in the small town of Collector (between Canberra & Goulburn). We all gathered there for lunch & the tallying of scores from the run.
Cheers guys, it was a great weekend away. I will be back next year for sure. Its just ashame that the corty didn't want to go. Hopefully I can get an ignition switch in time for the concourse day
