Here are my pics from the weekend.
It was a great weekend with about 250 cortina's of all shapes & sizes.
The weekend started off loading up the transporter for the two trailer queens & getting mky mk2 ready for its maiden voyage. While Dad & Steve loaded up dads car, I tried to start mine which was proving a little difficult when it was cold. When mum came over to me & gave me a tip on a little quirk that her old mk2 corty had. She said pump the accelerator 3 times & then try starting it. Worked like a charm & fired up first go. Thanks mum.
Anyway after hooking up the cars we headed off down the Hume.

Along the way we came across a few other old cars.
Like this 69 Mustang that gave us a wave on his way past

There was also this old one at Bookham where we stoped for some lunch. It was on its way to a big show at Wagga Wagga.

The convoy at Bookham

A corty wagon along with a few "antiques" at Gundagai

After a long cold trip (no heater or radio in the luxury cortina) we arrived at Lake Hume Resort in Albury & unloaded the cars off the transporter.

& guess who got the carport

On the Saturday there was breaky at the local Ford Dealers in Albury followed by a cruise to Beachworth in Victoria. There were two options, the senic route that took 3 hours or the shorter 1 hour cruise.
It was something else to see so many cortinas on the road at one time

After a great drive we arrived at historic Beachworth in the heart of Kelly Country, where all of the cars were parked in a field behind the old court house, where we put on a mini show & had a wander around Beachworth to get some lunch

We then all cruised back to the Lake Hume Resort where there was a car boot sale, where im sure everyone got a bargain. Dad went to sell some stuff & ended up taking home a few bargains. I sold a GT centre console before I could even get it out of the packing & then bought some mk2 hubcaps in good nick for $10 for 5.
After the swap meet was the dinner (which we nearly didn't get, but thats another story) with the guest speaker who was Harry Firth. As you can see in this picture everyone had a ball listening to Harry talk about how good he was for a couple of hours.

On the Sunday everyone got up early & scrubbed their cars ready for the show at Kinross Station. There was a heavy fog in the morning but that eventually cleared to a beautiful day.
It was great to see the dedication of some people to make the event, with some guys driving from as far away as Western Australia & the Northern Territory. Plus some people had some serious transporters bringing in cars.

That looks like an excellent way to spend the weekend! Some very, very nice cars there.
But those transporters, how cool do they look?! One big rig loaded up with old Cortys, and that F-series with the 2 Lotus' on the back, just awesome!
Glad your old girl made it down and back Neale. It's a cool looking mk2 for sure |

Yeah Laurie but we thought the fuel bill for F350 towing just under 3 tonnes was cheaper than what the Lotus' would have chewed up |
