Interesting. As yet, there's no mention of the new venue on the RSOCVIC website. I'm in Melbourne (Docklands) in June so I'm going to check out the venue for myself.
Doing some R&D, Mahoneys is only 40 min drive along the freeway from the venue.
We have FULL run of the place for car washing/beer drinking/socializing. Cars are safe and close to the rooms. Pub across the road. And its 2 min to the freeway for the Monday return trip (marathon)
It's way over the other side of the city. No motels real close by but there is one at Hoppers Crossing which looks promising. Price is reasonably cheap and judging from google maps the layout may allow us some security.
Yes, we were all talking about this at Kings and have decided to stay at Mahoneys again. Besides we need to catch up with our mate on the pinnie machine!
Don't forget to book your rooms, we will be staying at Mahoney's again then drive down to the venue in convoy.
This is a great weekend away so don't miss out. I will have the itinerary out again a little closer to the date but we usually leave early Saturday morning (2/03/12)from Uncle Leo's, catch up with the overnighters at Gundegai and then arrive at the motel Saturday afternoon, Saturday night is spent enjoying a meal and a drink at the local. The show is on the Sunday (3/03/12)then we normally head home on the Monday (4/03/12)where we stop for our now traditional breakfast at Seymour.
The breakfast is worth the trip alone (can't beat country fresh eggs).
