We have been invited to participate in the Wings Over Illawarra airshow which is on Sunday 6th May 2012.

It is on at the Illawarra Regional Airport at Albion Park Rail. To enter your car you have to have a display ticket which is at no cost to the club but each person in the car will be charged a $5.00 admission fee. There is a parade lap for cars entered too.

We have to pre-book spots and receive display stickers which must be displayed on the day.

As usual let me know if you would like to attend so we can book some spots.

More information here http://woi.org.au/

I'd be interested in going along to this one. The kids would love to come and see some planes and helicopters I reckon.

Would anyone else be keen too? Would be good to get a group of cars from the club together.

We discussed this event at the meeting and there seems to be some interest so I will order some tickets for us on Tuesday.

I have received confirmation from the organisers about attending. We did originally miss out but they have just gotten back to me that have made some room for us.

I will post up the details later on tonight, but if you would like to attend let me know and I shall email you all the info.

Details about entering this show are below. Peter, I have emailed you the info.

DETAILS OF YOUR CLUB’S PARTICIPATION IN THE

I am writing to thank your Club and Club members for the decision that you will attend WOI 12 WHICH WILL BE HELD ON Sunday 06th MAY 2012.
Detailed planning is well under way for the WOI 12 Air Show, and we can now provide you with the basic detail of how to attend as follows:-
. Please note the following:-
1) You are requested to ARRIVE at the nominated RV by nlt 0830-which is the CROOM RD SPORTING COMPLEX Roundabout about 1 km SOUTH of the airfield. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A DIFFERENT RV TO LAST YEAR’S EVENT.
2) FOR A MAP OF THE RV AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO GET TO IT-PLEASE GO TO THE WOI 12 WEBSITE:- www.woi.org.au :- CLICK ON FAQ (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS) AND OPEN UP THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR CAR CLUBS ATTENDING.
3) THIS WEBSITE ALSO CONTAINS DOWNLOADABLE WOI 12 POSTERS THAT WE WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU TO PRINT AND DISTRIBUTE TO ANYONE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING. THANK YOU!
4) WOI 12 CARS ATTENDING WILL NEED TO PRINT A WOI 12 REGISTRATION DASHBOARD TICKET TO BE ADMITTED, WHICH FOR WOI 12 WILL BE PROVIDED TO YOUR CLUB AT NO COST. YOU CAN THEN PRINT OFF YOUR REQUIRED NUMBERS OF COPIES TO GIVE TO YOUR CLUB PARTICIPANTS IN ADVANCE.
5) WE WILL E-MAIL YOU A MASTER COPY OF THE WOI 12 DASHBOARD TICKET WHICH WILL ALSO SHOW YOUR ALLOCATED CONVOY NUMBER
6) CARS NOT BELONGING TO A CAR CLUB WILL NOT BE ISSUED WITH A DASHBOARD DISPLAY TICKET
7) ON ARRIVAL TO THE CONVOY RV YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PAY $5 PER HEAD AND AN AIR SHOW WRISTBAND WILL BE ISSUED TO EACH CAR OCCUPANT (THE NORMAL PRICE IS $25 PER HEAD)
8) SELECTED CLUBS WILL BE INVITED TO DISPLAY THEIR VEHICLES RUNNING AT LOW SPEED IN THE CAR ARENA PROVIDED. PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP IF YOU WANT TO DISPLAY SELECTED CLUB CARS IN THIS WAY
As the event coordinator, I really appreciate very much that your Club has decided to support WOI 12, and I can be contacted through e-mail:- mhough5@gmail.com or Phone:- 0418 424748
Thank you again,

So if you would like to attend all you have to do is print off the convoy ticket and place it on your dash. Then be at the Croom Rd Sporting complex no later than 8.30am. You will then pay $5.00 entry fee and cruise off to actual airfield in convoy, just like we do for the NRMA Motorfest.

I'll be going so see you there. Please email me if you would like to go and I'll email you high res versions of the ticket.

Yes, meeting point is at C5 on the map, so we should all make our way there for 8.30am, rather than meet anywhere else.

Sorry I missed you, I don't think I was around the car for more than 5 minutes the whole day. There was just so much stuff to see.

A highlight was when the "Connie" started her engines and splutted to life. I happened to be standing behind taking some photos, got covered in soot, my club shirt is ruined, who's stupid idea was it to get white club shirts!!!
