                      | Leo Geoghegan will be our guest speaker on Wednesday night [1/12/2010] and if he is half as good as last time it will be well worth the price of entry to hear one of the absolute legends of Australian motor sport.

                      | Another great talk from Leo Geoghegan. Some terrific stories and insite into days gone by. Loved them all, from using Mums car as a racer to testing cars on Hoston Park Rd to getting on the turps with Formula One World Champions. Thank you Geoff & Peter for arranging it, much appreciated.

                      | Annoyed that I am forced to work and had to leave early, but I really enjoyed what I heard.
What really interested me is the level of detail and recall Leo showed. I can't remember what I did last month, let alone 40 years ago.

We need to appreciate guys like Leo while they are still with us, their experience is something we will not have again. And such a humble man; imagine Jamie Whincup admitting he didn't know what understeer was.

                      | The video link below is from the race where Leo finished 3rd in the AGP, thats him right at the start with the black helmet and "G" on visor. It is the same one he was explaining about the new wings.

one of my faves is how he got the late great jim clark to mow his mums lawn. then at the after party after the race all the drivers went back to leo's parents place & leo introduced Jim clark to his mum & she said " I know you your the young man who mowed the lawn"

                      | Neale, you missed a beauty. He told another where they were partying on champagne back at the motel, Graeme Hill was walking on the roof with an umbrella pretending to be on a high wire. His brother Ian was on the ground spraying him with water from the hose trying to make him fall. Jim Clark had the hand mower out pretending to mow the carpet in the motel.... He must have liked mowing!

                      | thats gold, can you imagine that happening these days. Someone would have filmed it on their phone. It would make it to the news, & before you know it they loose their sponsors & they would be out of a job. Or Jim Clark would get new ones from a lawn mower manufacturer |

                      | I was amused by the one he told when they returned from Japan after he had just won the Japanese Grand Prix and someone asked, ''did you take your wife?'' his response was, no I took a spare engine! |
