We have set a tentative date for our first SFCC Drive Day. This has been a topic of discussion for some time and finally with the opening of a new track at Marulan in the Southern Highlands we have been able to get things moving
The cost at this stage is $140 per car with a minimum of 20 cars. Time on the track will be virtually unlimited. If we can get a commitment from more than 20 members the cost will reduce accordingly. We only need 28 entries for the cost to drop to $100 per car.
Due to the cost of the event and the requirement for advanced commitment we will need to have payment made upfront. I will confirm but at this stage the final payment date will be the June Club Meeting. You can pay in installments upto the June Club Meeting at each club meeting or to any committee members if you cant make it to a particular meeting.
All in all, this will be a unique experience that you will remember forever, loads of fun and experience that just cant be gained away from a race track
Dont be concerned about if your Small Ford will be ready or available for the day,as a club member you can bring any car along that you like, even the family truckster
Please post any questions here or feel free to call a committee member for more information |

I'm definitely keen. No idea what I'll be driving, but I'm keen
September gives me a few months, I might be able to get one orange basket case drivable (maybe). Otherwise the family truckster Laser will have to get a go.
Do you have any more details/info on the track? Its the first I've heard about something up there. |

Just had a bit of a look. Found this for more details. http://wp.circuitclub.com.au/?p=481
Sounds like it might be more of a hillclimb track than an out and out circuit. All good though. Any new motorsport complex is a good thing I reckon. |

That's quite accessible to us Sydneysiders and the cost is very reasonable. What are the requirements?
Helmet, clothing etc etc?
Make sure your brakes are absolutely top notch fellas. And don't go out with mostly worn tyres that could have off rubber .
I can't commit yet, but it sounds interesting. I'll have a new set of brakes by then, and about half worn rubber. Depending on tax return, maybe I'll be getting a second set of rims . I have my eye on a full used set with near new tyres. Could retire my current worn set with Marangoni's to a track day to finish them off . |
Cheers, Rob.

you say car or family truckster is acceptable but what about the family bike?
i would love to go though as i dont see the escort being finished before then and i hardly think the hilux is going to be much fun on the track the only other thing i have is the moto though im sure its probably not the best idea to mix that with cars
gives me lots of incentive to hurry the escort along though doesnt it
unless vicki ends up finding the perfect mx5 before then its not the right colour, it doesnt sound right, it doesnt match my handbag, blah dee blah.

the barina cant even handle day to day driving, though admitedly i do give it a hard time
its ok ill do my best to get mine on the road, even if its in the 1600 from as the day will still be a hoot.
going to look at 2 mx5's this weekend so hopefully something will turn up there as well
what are the rules/guidelines for this trackday? is it anything goes or is it more like an organised trackday like E.C and oran? is the price per driver or car? say if vicki wants to do a few laps, cant imagine that ebing the case but who knows? might be able to excite her a little
never been involved in a club day before

It would be good to see the Escort there,a few of us will be trying to get cars ready
Typically these days are one driver per entry and no passengers due to the dangers involved.
We will be developing a set of guidelines for the day which we will get out there soon, with safety being the number one consideration
Whatever the format ends up as...it will be a blast with bucket loads of track time |
