Sydney Showground at Homebush. I'll post a flyer as soon as I get one. Should be the same as last year. |

We have our 5 cars, Jeff's Mk1 Escort, Adrian's Mk2 Escort, Roy's Capri, Ken's Mk1 Cortina and Nicks TF Cortina and it looks like a Silver and White show. The other thing is all these cars have never been to Motorex before so no chance of anyone saying that was here last year. |

Motorex, what a great show can't get enough of the quality. What a shame the clubs in the very back corner of the show i noticed alot of people were just not venturing down to the second hall at all, how was attendance compared to last year? |

Here are some photos I took on Friday night. I was on patrol Saturday along with Ken and Theo, apart from being the usually cold temperature in the hall I think the number of spectators was up, even on Saturday night which is usually quiet had a few people walking around in the cold much more than last year. We had a few people interested in the club but plenty just admiring the cars and taking photos if Ken had a dollar for every photo taken of his car he'd be able to buy another, infact if the club had a dollar for every photo taken of our display we could afford to buy Oran Park. As I have allways said this show is a Hot Rod and Street Machine Show not a club car show and without the Hot Rods and Street Machines it would not be on. These cars are what draws the public in not our cars it was commented on by many of the members that came out that it seemed the number of cars in our hall was down and the cars in the dome seemed to be encroaching more and more into the hall and trade stands were placed better in our hall this year to give a more open look. As I have said in the past reports about this show, the organiser Mark is doing this for a business which is fine because if he dosen't make money it dosen't happen and we are lucky enough to be one of the clubs that he respects as long standing suporters of Motorex. Personally I thought the postion was fine as we were in a main traffic isle, we had plenty of room to space our cars out and none of our cars were obscured by other cars like in other displays. This was the first year we showed a dvd of our past events and this was of interest to the public as they walked by (thanks to Theo and Alex for the dvd). The president of the CFC thanked me on behalf of the club for a great display as usual and said our club could allways be depended upon. There are a lot of people to be thanked Geoff with the Mk1 Escort he promised a car for us it wasn't quiet finished so he got it towed to the event. Roy with his silver Capri, this was his first display. Adrian and his Mk2 Escort. Nick with his newly acquired TF and Ken with his Mk1 replica Lotus Cortina. All these members went out of the way to get cars to the display and said they were honoured to put there cars on display for our club, This was not about trophies it was about representing and promoting the club, it was really good to hear this from the guys and I really want to thank them for there efforts and comments. Thanks also to Theo who is doing the Sunday shift and pack up. Thanks should also go to the Combined Ford Clubs that make this area available to us to promote our club which had the largest number of cars from all the CFC affiliated clubs. Theo I'm sure will fill us in on the Sunday happenings. |

Sunday was very successful with plenty of people stopping to have a look at our display. There appeared to be more clubs at the show this year compared to last year, while thankfully there were less trade stands.
All our cars drew attention with many visitors commenting that the standard of our cars were equal to any other club on the day. Ken's Cortina certainly was a popular car on the day.
The video display worked a treat with people stopping for a look then grabbing a flyer for the Concourse Day and All Ford Day.
