Hi All,

I would like to advise that we are adding an additional event to the Club's Events Calendar for Sunday 4th December. The Event is MotorWorld Sydney to be held at the Sydney Motorsport Park at Eastern Creek.

MotorWorld Sydney is destined to become Australia's ultimate automotive festival and biggest driving experience with up to 60,00 local and national visitors expected to attend. The event offers visitors the opportunity to test-drive cars on track, road or off-road circuits. It will be the most engaging and entertaining way for car enthusiasts and interested buyers to compare the various brands and the latest models available. Close to 7,000 test drive opportunities will be on offer over the four day event.

There will be many exiting activities at MotorWorld Sydney such as spectacular People's Choice "Show & Shine" displays of some of the best car clubs throughout New South Wales as well as a comprehensive entertainment and educational programme, lifestyle & aftermarket retail sales and family zones which will ensure that all motoring enthusiasts and members of the family will have a great day out.

The event is themed across each of the four days as follows:

Day 1: December 1 - Ladies Day
Day 2: December 2 - Luxury / Performance Day
Day 3: December 3 - Family Day
Day 4: December 4 - Special Olympics Charity - Dream Ride Day

The Small Ford Car Club will be allocated a display area on Day 4, December 4 2016. Please note that car clubs are not required to give rides, nor their cars to be driven.

Some additional notes on the People's Choice "Show & Shine" Awards:
* Car Clubs will be invited to participate on a day across the four day event;
* Approximately 4 to 6 Car Clubs will be represented each day depending on numbers (SFCC will be displaying on Day 4);
* The "Show & Shine" displays will be located in the Classics and Customs Zone which is beside the Grandstand at the Eastern Creek Sydney Motorsport Park;
* People's Choice Award will be made each day consisting of prizes and a celebrity lap around the Sydney Motorsport Park track for the winning club.

Our Small Ford Car Club will bear the cost of our display, which will be limited to a maximum of 20 cars. Each car will be entitled to two (2) free entrance tickets to the day.

Tickets will be restricted to Small Ford Car Club members only, and cars must be club cars (i.e. a car nominated on your Club Membership Application Form).

As only 20 Club cars will be able to participate, please nominate your desire to attend on this forum. Tickets will be allocated on a first come - first serve basis.

Cheers,

Peter

This was an excellent day, from collecting our tickets to winning entrants award trophy, totally hassle free, will need to be included on next years calendar as a must. Letting us loose in the VIP lounge for afternoon tea the organisers were terrific.
The driving of the new cars on the track was enjoyable and taking passengers as we rotate the driver added to the experience.
Winning the award allowed three Club Members a ride experience in a fast lap around the track, never seen bigger grins, Rob Dunn climbing in the Porsche Race car "priceless"

I have received advice from the Event Organisers regarding the awards available to Car Clubs participating in the MotorWorld Sydney festival in December. The advice is as follows:
"MotorWorld Sydney - Best Dressed Car Club
The Best Dressed Car Club award will be available for car clubs to win on Saturday Dec 3 and on Sunday Dec 4. Our judges are Ron Goodman, recent winner of the Monterey Motorsports Reunion, Matt De Groot from Nova Entertainment and ABC Sports presenter Stephanie Brantz. Our team will be reviewing cars between 1:00pm and 2:00pm each day.
Judging Criteria:
*Visual Appeal - e.g. first impressions, lines and gaps, polish, external and internal detail, how the owner presented with Club regalia on display. Style and overall look.
* how informative is the display - e.g. the range of models available, historical information, special features or special Car on show and items of interest.
* How engaging the club members are - e.g. Knowledge of cars, willingness to share information and general passion for their cars and Club.

The daily winner of the Celebrity Judges Award will be announced at 5:30pm in The Garage Cafe where the winning Club will receive the award.

People's Choice Award - The People's Choice Award will be available for car clubs to pit themselves against each other to win this unique prize on Saturday Dec 3 and again on Sunday Dec 4. Visitors will be able to vote for their favourite Car Club by placing their votes in the dedicated ballot box adjacent to the Shannon's tent. Voting is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. The daily winner of the People's Choice Award will be announced at 5:30pm in the Garage Cafe where the winning Car Club will be presented with a trophy and then have the privilege of completing a lap of honour at 6:00pm."

You can see that the awards are not individual, but Club based, and I fell that if we were to get a representative showing of the cars in our Club, then we would stand a very strong chance of taking out an award.

There are still spots available in our display, but you will have to be quick in responding as I have to let the Organisers know of the registration plate numbers of our vehicles by Friday. You will not be able to get in the gate unless you details have been submitted.

Hoping to see a lot of late nominations.

Cheers,
Peter

I have just received an email from the organiser who has advised me that they are willing to permit more cars to enter the event at no extra cost to the Club. So the original 20 car limit has been lifted. But you will need to be quick as they want the registration number of the cars that will be coming by next Friday. I will phone around and get the registration numbers of the cars from people who have already nominated their attendance on the Forum.

Any other takers?

We have reached the minimum numbers required, so the event is a goer.

Still spaces left. Come along and showcase the Small FORD Car Club and help us win the display.

Cheers,

Peter
